Policies

CALENDAR:  School will be closed on all official state and federal holidays.  School will be closed December 15 through January 5 and July 15 through August 5 of each year.

ENROLLMENT:  New enrollment periods begin on the 1st of each month.  Programs begin on the 1st of each month following enrollment, except in January, when programs begin on January 6, and August, when programs begin on August 6.

ABSENCES, LEAVES, AND TARDINESS: Students are expected to complete lessons on a weekly basis.  Programs may be accelerated or slowed per the needs of the student.  Students are allowed 24 weeks from the date of enrollment to complete MTRM200, HANA200, MTRN300, or MCOD400.  Students are allowed one year from the date of enrollment to complete HICOD400.  If more than the allowable time is needed to complete a certificate program, an extension for an extra fee may be discussed with the instructor. 

RULES OF CONDUCT:  All students are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner.  Proper behavior includes communicating in a professional and positive manner.  Students may be dismissed for violation of these rules.  Ability to communicate with instructors in a professional and positive manner may influence final grades. 

RE-ADMISSION STATEMENT:  Students who have not submitted a lesson for 18 weeks or more must re-enroll.

CAREER PLANNING AND PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE:  No placement services are provided; however, assistance with the job-seeking process is free to the program graduate when requested.  Central Business School instructors have among their responsibilities the objective of assisting students with their efforts to find employment.  Central Business School instructors have a sincere desire to provide students with productive career campaigns and successful job placements; however, job placement cannot be guaranteed.  The final responsibility for initiating a job search and acquiring a job remains with the career program graduate. 

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION: A certificate of completion and transcript will be awarded to all students successfully completing a certificate program.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES: Students will demonstrate an overall understanding of the certificate program by scoring 70% or better on practice exercises, quizzes, and tests.

GRADING CRITERIA:  Student must achieve 70% overall to successfully complete any Central Business School certificate program or course.

CREDIT ALLOWED FOR PREVIOUS EDUCATION AND TRAINING:  No credit is allowed for previous education or training.

FINANCIAL AID: Central Business School is a state-licensed proprietary school.  We are not federally accredited, and as such, we cannot accept federal PELL grants or students loans. 

COMPLAINTS:  According to Senate Bill No. 786 governing proprietary schools, students may file a complaint with the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs for any violation of the act or rules promulgated under this act.  For more information, visit the Department's web site at www.michiganps.net.
